I can't even say that I have finished reading this book. I am actually only on chapter 5! I thought 2 or 3 days reading on the beach and I would be done! Instead I have found myself having to take lengthy breaks after each chapter and chew deeply! The Truth has pierced my heart in a convicting, cleansing, and purifying way. Oh how I stumble and fall as a parent so often, but I rejoice in my weakness knowing His strength carries me! Tears of repentance have flowed once again over my own goodness, but so have tears of joy knowing how deep and wide His grace is!

Friends or Moms, this is a MUST read! If you have read it, I would love to know!
There is soo much more I could say. I'm sure I'll be doing a follow-up blog on this as soon as I am done, but until then I am going to leave you with a few quotes from the book.
"For the most part we aren't teaching the gospel at all as we parent, but moralism...keeping the law (good behavior) instead of teaching the gospel of grace."
"morality is deadlier to the soul than immorality."
"Raising good kids is utterly impossible unless they are drawn by the Holy Spirit to put their faith in the goodness of another. You can not raise good kids, because you are not a good parent. There is only one good parent and He had One good Son."

Awesome! I haven't read the book but I just had it recommended to me by a friend, and I am planning on getting it soon. Glad to hear another good review!
Your pictures are beautiful and your words so encouraging! Love His truths you share! I haven't heard of this book but sounds great!
Jordan! I don't know if you remember me from Chrysalis... but Lela shared your blog because I just wrote about Give Them Grace yesterday in mine! I am reading it in preparation for a Bible study that I'm leading starting in September. Your little girl is precious! And I have experience with a scary illness while pregnant, too... but too long to get into here. All I'll say is that God was faithful, and all was well. Love your blog! -Miriam Terry Powell
